Congolese and HIV AIDS
The 1st December of each year marks the international day to fight against HIV/AIDS. It is occasion to make a point on the pandemic, what it is, how to get infected, prevention means, as well research status in order to eradicate the pandemic. A part from statistics, World Health Organization (WHO) can communicate during this day, Target research agency conducted a study among Congolese in order to evaluate the idea they have regarding HIV AIDS threats. How do they perceive communications around HIV AIDS.
Overall 53% among Congolese think ‘’very high’’ HIV AIDS threats on their health; 54% of men think the threat is very high. The age group most conscious of the threat is youth aged between 18 and 24 years old. However, 5% of women are not able to evaluate the impact of HIV AIDS on their health nowadays.
78% of people interviewed on this Target ‘survey think that there is good communication on fight against HIV AIDS. Kongo-Central, Tanganyika and Tshuapa are regions where 100% of people interviewed think messages around fight against HIV AIDS are relevant. Channels used to send messages on HIV AIDS ‘fight is radio (61%), followed by TV; only 10% of messages on fight against the pandemic is sent through social network.
