The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a vast country of central Africa, a market of almost 75 million of inhabitants. This significant potential gives rise to the interest of number of investors and partners in the favor of the most significant potential market of Central Africa. DR Congo is also a post-conflict country, which gives rise to flood of countries and organizations working in humanitarian and social sector. Following the re-establishment of peace in the country consecutive to organization of the first democratic elections in 2006, DR Congo shows itself to be more and more credible and opened to foreign investors and partners. Companies working in DR Congo are investing in actions of public relations especially social actions in the favor of population. (Donation to schools, rehabilitation of health center…); the purpose is to improve the image towards consumers.
This survey is aiming at assessing the image and reputation of Corporate (companies, countries and organizations) working in DR Congo, to identify actors that are well-known by Kinshasa people in general and in various activities’ sectors; in accordance with a survey carried out from the 1st to 4th of October 2011 with a sample of 1000 people using the method of quotas per age, sex and municipality of residence. This study shall allow corporate working in DR Congo to have the feedback of image they are giving to population as well as what is remaining in the mind of populations-beneficiaries of their actions. The first part of this study, looks through companies firstly coming at the top of mind of Kinshasa people, companies better reflecting some attributes (quality, leader, for Congolese and foreign people…), the best companies as regards field (beer, media, telephony, etc…) as well as companies preferred by Kinshasa people. The second part reviews main partners of DR Congo (countries and organizations) spontaneously mentioned by Kinshasa people, the best partners as regards their activities’ fields and finally partners preferred by Kinshasa people regarding their actions.
