Congolese and fight against pandemics

During this recent years, DRC was victim of Ebola (2017, 2014, 2012, 2008-2009, 2007,…). To this, it can be added malaria which is the first cause of death within the country and tuberculosis which continues to kill while in other countries, these diseases have been eradicated or are not more pandemics. Approximately 370 000 Congolese are infected by HIVA AIDS, this excludes “sero-ignorants” (those ignoring their serology status). This remains a problem in DRC despite few improvements mentioned in terms of treatments and prevention.

To fight against pandemics, Congolese government organizes in partnership with WHO and many other donators nationwide prevention campaigns (HIV AIDS, Ebola, malaria, tuberculosis).

In order to know Congolese perception on these diseases and measure impact of preventive messages sent across the country, Target conducted a survey allowing analyze Congolese opinions on this.

This survey was conducted from the 23rd July to the 15th August  2017 among 1110 congolese of both genders (male = 554 and female = 556), representing population aged between 18 to 65 YO and more. The sampling representativity was assured through quotas applied to the following variables: age, gender, occupation, region. The study was conducted in all the 26 DRC capital cities.

You can directly get detailed results of the study on line on cogolose and fight againt pandemia per region and per category (gender , age group, occupation revenue, etc.) through www.target-sarl.com
