TARGET Sarl decided to publish each year statistics on Kinshasa media related to advertisers and communication agencies that cannot afford national researches on media complying with international standards (study based on day-before audience during 7 days). Statistics’ edition of 2014 on media at Kinshasa includes two big innovations:

  • Introduction of questions relating to preferences in terms of day, moment and programs/sections.
  • Presentation of results per media.

Thus the report of research includes 5 great parts successively devoted to television, radio, Internet, satellite channels and print media.

As regard 2013, there is a significant step back for radio and print media as well at the level of general audience as at the level of daily audience while Internet and satellite channels considerably increase their audience at Kinshasa. An important part of traditional audience of both radio and print media (men of 50 years old and over) seems to be more appealed to information broadcasted by satellite channels (France 24, Euronews, TV5…) and online (social networks, Mediacongo.net, RadioOkapi.net…). Apart from Facebook, Google and Yahoo, Kinshasa people often use internet applications such as WhatsApp, Viber, Skype, Tubidy, and Youtube.
