ESOMAR: the first meeting of DR Congo members

Members of ESOMAR (European society of market research) in DR Congo held their first meeting at the end of April in Kinshasa on the initiative of Serge MUMBU, the Managing Director of Target SARL, representative of this market research professionals’ international organization.
The objective of this meeting was essentially to gather around one table members of ESOMAR in DR Congo. Three over six members attended this meeting, the three remaining could not be present due their professional obligations.
At the end of discussions, members agreed on organizing a session of upgrading on the use of “My ESOMAR” (a special account devoted to each member in ESOMAR site) so that they may exchange with other members and have access to all available information on ESOMAR network, especially related different publications, articles after international conferences…
An option has been raised and unanimously adopted for that purpose, it is about organizing a conference that should be held at the end of year within a university located at Kinshasa in order to present ESOMAR and sensitize students on market research sector.
ESOMAR head office already stated to be ready to support these initiatives taken at the local level. It is planning to organize webinars for DR Congo members or providing them with required materials for popularization of market research activities as well as ESOMAR.
