Target is launching the 3rd edition of Kinshasa media research

The Research Agency TARGET SARL launched this July, 7th at Kinshasa data collection for media research. This is the third edition of this research that is carried out once a year since 2013. About twenty surveyors and supervisors are released on the field for collecting data. Therefore one thousand respondents will be reacting on their consumption behavior regarding broadcasting, written as well as online media.

Interviews are being carrying out face-to-face at the respondent domiciles. In order to make data processing easier, since last year, TARGET is collecting information through soft questionnaires using Smartphones.

Since the launching of media research in 2013 at Kinshasa, TARGET conformed itself with the tendency on international level in order to achieve media survey once a year but not several times during the same year as other agencies are still doing in DR Congo. “According to experience it has been shown that tendencies in terms of media contents’ consumption remains consistent for an extended period of time. Most of time big changes are not really observed over three or six months but rather from one year to another”, as explained by Serge Mumbu, General Manager of TARGET.

Therefore this quantitative research aims at providing tendencies’ readers with figures related to:

  • Each media audience (Television, Radio, Internet as well as written press),
  • TV channels, radio stations, magazines/newspapers as well as websites preferred by Kinshasa people,
  • Programs preferred at Kinshasa,
  • Week, days and preferred times to follow media.

For advertisers, media researches are perfect tool for determining the best time slot for launching their messages. The audience is better targeted and the message will surely and easily reach it. Media on its side shall have the opportunity to discover programs that draws the biggest attention of their publics. Thus, they can, to the best of their knowledge, decide or not to readjust their programs schedules.

The research results shall be available at the end of this month of July. You can order to receive them by calling to: 243 810 451 052/ +243 99 324 8180 or writing to: info@target-sarl.cd.
