Target is publishing a research on beverage availability at sales outlet of Kinshasa

Target conducted a research on “beverage brands’ numbers at different Kinshasa sales outlet”. This research allows having a strong and reliable database of types and brands of available beverage in Kinshasa market, their representativeness in different sales outlet as well as their prices.

Carried out from May to June 2017, this research dealt with six types of sales outlet: lounges/terraces, shops; dancing and night clubs, hotels and guest houses, restaurants and supermarkets.

The research notes that beers are the most available types of beverage to be found out at Kinshasa sales outlet, followed by soft drinks and spirits. Water is coming at the very last position.  

Within lounges and terraces for instance, spirits represent only 2% of beverage that are sold. Besides spirits, water is also the least present beverage in lounges and terraces (6%). However it reaches 19% in supermarkets and 20% in shops.

The research also shows that brewery that has the biggest market share of soft drink is the one whose beers are mostly consumed. Better, the research allowed to establish the top 30 of brands of available beverage at Kinshasa market.

For water for instance, the three first brands mostly available on the market are: Alpina, Eau Vive (eau plate 50 cl), and Canadian Pure. As regards spirits, J&B, Muscador and Black label coming at the top 3 position.

Beyond presentation of beverage brands available in different sales outlet, this research establishes an inventory of prices for each type of beverage and in line with sales outlet. The research also presents a directory of all companies that supply Kinshasa market with beverage. Data presented in this research are very critical as well for supply companies as for sellers of beverage.
