
Sport: about 6 Congolese people over 10 affirm to practice a sport, according to Target SARL survey
About six Congolese people over ten affirm to practice a sport, according to an online survey conducted by Target SARL, a market research agency based in the DR Congo capital that is specializing in researches entirely performed on the Internet.
For about 459 people that participated in this online panel, 57% state to practice a sport against 43% that don’t practice any sport at all. Amongst all cities, Goma (66%) has the highest proportion of sportsmen of our panel, followed by Kinshasa (58%) and Kisangani (57%).
In terms of the most practiced sport activities, we have got health walking (28%), soccer (24%), and gymnastics (17%). Othermentioned “sports”such as jumping the rope, marathon, cycle racing, boxing or NZANGO (similar to scissors jumps; a sport of Congolese origin practiced between two groups of women that are making scissors jumping) all received scores varying between 1 and 5%.
Soccer and gymnastics are especially practiced by young people of 25 to 34 years old, while seniors (50 years old and above) are the most inclined to making gymnastics (40%).
Women are great many to practice walking (29%), while men are very keen of soccer (29%).
Internet users responded to this online panel during a period of two months (from 23 May to 31 July 2015).
