Financial inclusion in DR Congo: Target active contribution in FinScope research

Target SARL brought its contribution in the achievement of FinScope national research on financial inclusion conducted from May to August 2014 in several cities of DR Congo. Results of the said research have been publicly made available by the Ministry of Finance on Friday 27 March 2015 at Grand Hotel of Kinshasa.
FinScope research is a research instrument developed by FinMark Trust in order to assess the access to financial services in a country and identify constrains that are blocking financial inclusion within a population.
Target SARL used its experience to ensure data collection throughout all 11 provinces of DR Congo with a team of 250 persons (i.e. 182 interviewers, 43 supervisors, 12 Field Managers and 13 data entry operators) as well in towns as in urban and rural cities.

To a national scale, Target SARL succeeded in the collection of relevant information related to the way that people are generating their incomes and are financially managing their lives. FinScope thus reached its objective of revealing consumers perception and better understanding attitudes and expectations as regards financial products and services. A very important research in an environment whereas more and more commercial banks and financial services are especially using technologies of information and communication.
Further Target SARL, the AfricaScope agency has been involved in FinScope research especially in data sampling and weighting as well as writing of final report. Both agencies have been technically supported by FinMark Trust. FinScope is an initiative of FinMark Trust in partnership with UNCDF, the Ministry of Finances and the Central Bank of Congo (BCC).
