
The discovery of department “Projects”

Managed by the highly experienced Hortense MBUMBA, the department “Projects” of Target lies at the very heart of operation of the Congolese Market Research Agency. In practical terms, this department of Target SARL is in charge of drafting business proposals, planning and organization of researches as well as writing of reports to be submitted to customers.
In order to successfully complete projects, Hortense (Project Manager) works with a permanent team of three Research Specialists and about ten consultants that are intervening from time to time.
How this department is organized?
The “Projects” department includes 4 sub-departments:
- Quantitative: Tatiana Djoli is heading this sub-department that in charge of quantitative researches. When there is a project regarding quantitative research, this sub-department will draft all instructions for all people that are going to intervene in the said research, select and train the teams‘ surveyors, supervisors, field managers as well as quality monitors…) makes the dispatching on the field, monitoring, final reporting of data collection as well as coding in the event opened questions in the questionnaire.
- Business Development: Managed by Fédorah Bikay who is in charge of developing business proposals, making monitoring of publications as well as seeking business opportunities. She is regularly in contact with customers since she is taking care of customers’ portfolio management as well as Target suppliers.
- NewTech: placed under Michael Dikasa management. This sub-department is focused on Information and Communication Technologies and their implementation in the field of market researches. In 2015, Michael Dikasa is managing an ambitious project, which is to build up an online panel for researches. Recruitments are very advanced and Target wish to very soon launch the first online research conducted by Congolese people on a homemade platform.
- Qualitative: the qualitative sub-department intervenes anytime Target is about to launch a qualitative research. This will therefore conceive recruitment form and discussion guide; it will also select the teams (moderators, note takers, logistics’ officers and analysts) and location whereas discussions are supposed to take place, proceed with data analysis as well as drafting of reports.
Thanks to the excellent work of this department “Projects”, Target significantly contributed in the completion of FinScope national research 2014 on financial inclusion within all 11 provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Target has thus dispatched on the field surveyors, supervisors and quality controlers that performed a remarkable work under the coordination of Tatiana Djoli.
This Department “Projects” also launched in 2014 the first researches completed with smartphones and look forward to making more and more researches with these new technology tools (panels, tablets, laptop …) instead of paper questionnaire in hard copy.
On a daily basis, this department “Projects” of Target closely works with Computing Department for the design of database, production of results related to quantitative researches as well as design of publications.
For this year, the department aims at reaching the following goals:
- The 2015 editions of the media study, the impact of advertising, key figures of mobile and preferred celebrities in Kinshasa and Lubumbashi (DRC) as well as in Pointe Noire (Republic of Congo).
- Training of consultants on both qualitative and quantitative researches.
- Launching of online surveys (with the panel)
